the incorporation of statistical data into the school curriculum.
2. Adoption of the second edition of the Handbook of Statistical Systems based on discussions held with
the units and users of statistical data in a workshop held on 18/09/2012.
3. Welcoming the peer review mission by three experts from the European Union to review the
implementation and adherence of PCBS to the charter of good practice in statistical work. Assignments
and authorizations were issued for those involved in the implementation of the recommendations made
by the mission in its final report.
4. Developing methods of previewing metadata and the allocation of a dedicated server. The metadata of 100
surveys in Arabic and 108 surveys in English have been documented and the remainder will be forthcoming.
5. Preparing a report on evaluating the performance of the library, which includes a number of development
proposals to be met by PCBS.
6. Implementing a study on the use of statistical data by the public and private sectors in planning and
policy making.
7. Preparation of a report on the quality of data in the Population, Housing and Establishments Census of
2007 to be considered in the preparation of the national strategy of censuses.
8. Introduction of a technical mission to assess the quality of data in the Agricultural Census of 2010.
3.8 PCBS Distinguished Employee 2011
Based on special criteria related to performance, achievement, innovation and initiative by PCBS employees,
distinguished members of employee were selected for 2011 in PCBS general directorates. This policy aims to
encourage and motivate employee and recognize their creative efforts that contribute to the development of
methodologies and procedures and exert an impact on departmental and directorate levels.
