4.2 Strengthening Capacity of the National Statistical System
To strengthen the capacity of staff in ministries and government institutions in a variety of fields, PCBS conducted
17 training activities involving 125 employees as follows:
•
Two courses in data analysis using SPSS for 29 employees.
•
A course on data analysis using SPSS for the benefit of the Directorate of Education in Jerusalem for 20 employees.
•
A course on concepts, terminology and classification for 23 employees.
•
A course on the formulation of indicators and statistical reporting for 7 employees from the Ministry
of Women’s Affairs and the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports.
•
A training course for 6 employees from the national political and guidance commission on the principles
of collection, processing and analysis of statistical data.
•
Practical training in PCBS for 13 people from different institutions on economic, geographical, financial
and administrative issues and other topics related to statistics.
•
Workshop training on poverty statistics for 27 employees from the Ministry of Social Affairs in Gaza.
