4.5 Public Services
T h e P u b l i c S e r v i c e s
Department works to provide
services to data users in several
ways and strives to meet the
needs of the public. The Public
Services Department received
and r e sponded t o 1495
requests for data from various
users. Around 972 requests
came from individuals, 90
requests were from government
agencies, 181 requests from
international bodies, 116
requests from private sector
institutions and 97 requests
from NGOs.
4.6 Technical
Missions
To strengthen the capacity of
PCBS and the development
of PCBS programs in both
specialized topics and quality,
PCBS received 10 technical
missions dealing with several
fields including prices and
indices; assessing and measuring
t h e imp a c t o f t r a i n i n g ;
poverty; the development of
millennium indicators; the
quality of agricultural census
data; reviewing the application
of the code of s t a t i s t i ca l
practices , agricultural holdings
record,balance of payments,
international investment and
external debt, updating and
amending of the general statistics
law, and to explore prospects of
cooperation between PCBS and
the Swiss statistics.
Part of the internal seminar of the World Bank mission on the project of
poverty maps in the Palestinian territory
