6.6 Human Resources Development (HRD)
PCBS believes that Human Resources
Development is crucial to maintain the
capacity of a statistical institution. Staff
training and skills programs are essential
to provide them with the necessary
technical and managerial skills to
perform their job to the highest possible
standard. The Palestinian Centre for
Statistical Training trains PCBS staff
and runs training courses, workshops,
conferences and meetings locally and
abroad to develop and enhance staff
capabilities in various fields.
6.6.1 Internal training
activities
During 2012, PCBS conducted 8
internal training activities involving
113 PCBS employees besides to 17
trainees from various Palestinian
ministries and institutions and held
34 internal seminars on a variety of
subjects for 700 staff members.
6.6.2 National training
activities
During 2012, PCBS participated in 47
national training sessions, workshops,
meetings, conferences, seminars and
forums, grants and scholarships with
a total of 53 staff participants.
6.6.3 International training
activities
Some 137 staff members from PCBS
participated in activities abroad along
with 8 staff from other ministries
and institutions in 90 activities
during 2012. These activities
included training sessions, meetings,
workshops, conferences, forums,
grants and missions, study visits and
other tasks.
