Press Release on Hotel Activities Survey in the West Bank during - Fourth Quarter 2014 

153 Thousand Guests Spent 406 Thousand Nights

During the fourth quarter of 2014, 152,531 guests stayed in hotels in West Bank: 27% were from European Union countries and 10% were Palestinians.

The number of hotel guests was 53% higher than in the previous quarter and 20% lower than in the fourth quarter of 2013.

During the fourth quarter of 2014, the number of guest nights in West Bank hotels reached 406,394: of which 30% were from European Union countries, 10% were Palestinians, and 9% were from the United States and Canada.

During the fourth quarter of 2014, there were 2,970 hotel workers: (2,303 males and 667 females).

Hotel Room Occupancy

The room occupancy rate in  West Bank was 25% in the fourth  quarter of 2014.

Room occupancy during the fourth quarter of 2014 was 8% higher than in the previous quarter and 13% lower than in the fourth quarter of 2013.

Hotel Capacity by Region

In December 2014, 109 hotels out of 123 hotels operating in West Bank responded to the fourth quarter 2014 survey reporting to have 6,691 rooms with a total of 14,857 beds. These were distributed by region as follows:

·         North of West Bank: 15 hotels comprising 325 rooms with 981 beds.

·         Middle of West Bank: 34 hotels comprising 1,536 rooms with 3,331 beds.

·         Jerusalem: 24 hotels comprising 1,612 rooms with 3,534 beds.

·         South of West Bank: 36 hotels comprising 3,218 rooms with 7,011 beds.
