Press Release on Hotel Activities Survey in the West Bank - Third Quarter 2012
146 Thousand Guests Spent 310 Thousand Nights
During the third quarter of 2012, 146,451 guests stayed in hotels in the Palestinian Territory, spending 309,963 nights: 32% of guests were from European Union countries, 19% Palestinians and 6% from the United States and Canada.
The number of hotel guests was 7% lower than the previous quarter, but was higher by 39% compared with the third quarter of 2011
Hotel Room Occupancy during Third Quarter 2012
The room occupancy rate in the West Bank was 28% in the third quarter of 2012.
Room occupancy during the third quarter of 2012 was 17% lower than in the previous quarter, but was 13% higher than the third quarter of 2011.

During the third quarter of 2012, there were 2,446 hotel workers: 1,813 males and 633 females.
Hotel Capacity by Region
Hotels operating in the West Bank in September 2012 were distributed as follows:
· North of West Bank: 10 hotels comprising 237 rooms with 696 beds.
· Middle of West Bank: 28 hotels comprising 1,361 rooms with 3,256 beds.
· Jerusalem: 26 hotels comprising 1,463 rooms with 3,252 beds.
· South of West Bank: 28 hotels comprising 2,198 rooms with 4,905 beds.
