Sufian Abu Harb Appointed Acting President of the Palestinian Central Bureau of Statistics

Ramallah – 12/01/2026 – Prime Minister Dr. Mohammad Mustafa issued a decree appointing Mr. Sufian Abu Harb as Acting President of the Palestinian Central Bureau of Statistics (PCBS).

Following his appointment, Mr. Abu Harb expressed his appreciation for the confidence placed in him by the Palestinian leadership represented by H.E President Mahmoud Abbas “Abu Mazen” and H.E. Dr. Mohammad Mustafa, Prime Minister.

Mr. Abu Harb affirmed his full commitment to safeguarding the independence, professionalism, and sustainability of the PCBS and the whole National Statistical System.

Mr. Abu Harb holds a Master’s degree in Management from Birzeit University and a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science from York University in Canada. He has held numerous senior leadership positions within the PCBS since 1995.

Mr. Abu Harb’s appointment follows the appointment of Dr. Ola Awad as the Representative of the UN Women in Palestine.
