Construction Cost Index (CCI), Road Cost Index (RCI), Water Networks Cost Index (WNCI) and Sewage Networks Cost Index (SNCI) in the West Bank* during January,01/2019


Slight decrease in the Construction Cost Index (CCI) for Residential Buildings
The Construction Cost Index (CCI) for residential buildings reached 105.97 with a slight decrease of 0.04% in the West Bank* during January 2019 compared with December 2018 (base year 2013=100).

The CCI for residential buildings slightly decreased due to the slight decrease in the prices of raw materials by 0.07%, while rental of equipment increased by 0.11%. At the same time, labour wages remained stable during January 2019 compared with the previous month.

Slight decrease in the Construction Cost Index (CCI) for Non-residential Buildings
The Construction Cost Index (CCI) for non-residential buildings reached 105.95 with a slight decrease of 0.02% in the West Bank* during January 2019 compared with December 2018 (base year 2013=100).

The CCI for non-Residential buildings slightly decreased due to the slight decrease in the prices of raw materials by 0.04%, while rental of equipment slightly increased by 0.03%. At the same time, labour wages remained stable during January 2019 compared with the previous month.

Decrease in the Construction Cost Index (CCI) for Skeleton Buildings
The Construction Cost Index (CCI) for skeleton buildings reached 105.35 with a decrease of 0.25% in the West Bank* during January 2019 compared with December 2018 (base year 2013=100).

The CCI for skeleton buildings decreased due to the decrease in the prices of raw materials by 0.37%, and rental of equipment by 0.17%. At the same time, labour wages remained stable during January 2019 compared with the previous month.

Decrease in the Road Cost Index (RCI)

The overall Road Cost Index (RCI) reached 108.87 with a decrease of 0.49% in the West Bank* during January 2019 compared with December 2018 (base month December 2008=100).

The overall RCI decreased due to the decrease in operating costs of equipment and maintenance by 4.66%, the prices of raw materials by 0.47%, and rental of equipment by 0.44%. At the same time, labour wages remained stable during January 2019 compared with the previous month.

Slight decrease in the Water Networks Cost Index (WNCI)
The overall Water Networks Cost Index (WNCI) reached 113.64 with a slight decrease of 0.08% in the West Bank* during January 2019 compared with December 2018 (base month January 2010=100).

Water Reservoirs Cost Index reached 108.65 with a decrease of 0.51%, while Water Networks Cost Index reached 115.91 with an increase of 0.11% during January 2019 compared with the previous month.

Slight decrease in the Sewage Networks Cost Index (SNCI)
The overall Sewage Networks Cost Index (SNCI) reached 109.32 with a slight decrease of 0.01% in the West Bank* during January 2019 compared with December 2018 (base month January 2010=100).

Data exclude those parts of Jerusalem which were annexed by Israeli Occupation in 1967.

NB:
1.    Gaza Strip data is not available.
2.    The difference in the percentage change in major groups of road, construction, water networks, and sewage networks cost index is due to the nature compositions of these major groups.
