During 2010, there were 463 localities without a sewage network, representing
83.1%
of all localities in the Palestinian Territory.
•
In 2011, 77.4% of educational establishments in the West Bank received water from
a water network, while 8.0% received water through buying water tanks.

Population
•
The population of the Palestinian Territory was estimated at 4.17 million at mid-
2011: 2.58
million in the West Bank and 1.59 million in the Gaza Strip.
•
The population of the Palestinian Territory is young: 40.8% of the total population
were aged below 14 years in mid-2011: 38.9% in the West Bank and 44.1% in the
Gaza Strip. Persons aged 65 and over made up 3.0% of the total population: 3.4% in
the West Bank and 2.5% in the Gaza Strip.

births: 3.8 births in the

in the Gaza Strip.
