Construction Cost Index (CCI), Road Cost Index (RCI), Water Networks Cost Index (WNCI) and Sewage Networks Cost Index (SNCI) in the West Bank* During June, 06/2017

 

Slight Increase in the Construction Cost Index (CCI) for Residential Buildings

The Construction Cost Index (CCI) for Residential buildings reached 103.68 with a slight increase of 0.05% in the West Bank* during June 2017 compared with May 2017 (base year 2013=100).

 

The CCI for Residential buildings slightly increased due to a slight increase in labour wages by 0.07%, rental of equipment by 0.06%, and the prices of raw materials by 0.04% during June 2017 compared with the previous month.

 

Increase in the Construction Cost Index (CCI) for Non-residential Buildings

The Construction Cost Index (CCI) for Non-residential buildings reached 103.74 with an increase of 0.11% in the West Bank* during June 2017 compared with May 2017 (base year 2013=100).

 

The CCI for Non-Residential buildings increased due to an increase in the prices of raw materials by 0.14%, labour wages by 0.07%, and rental of equipment by 0.04% during June 2017 compared with the previous month.

 

Slight Decrease in the Construction Cost Index (CCI) for Skeleton Buildings

The Construction Cost Index (CCI) for Skeleton buildings reached 101.65 with a slight decrease of 0.04% in the West Bank* during June 2017 compared with May 2017 (base year 2013=100).

 

The CCI for Skeleton buildings decreased due to a decrease in the prices of raw materials by 0.19% and rental of equipment by 0.01%, while the prices of labour wages increased by 0.12% during June 2017 compared with the previous month.

 

Increase in the Road Cost Index (RCI)

The overall Road Cost Index (RCI) reached 107.53 with an increase of 0.44% in the West Bank* during June 2017 compared with May 2017 (base month December 2008=100).

 

The overall RCI increased due to the increase in labour wages by 1.69%, operating costs of equipment & maintenance by 0.54%, the prices of raw materials by 0.39%, and rental of equipment slightly increased by 0.06% during June 2017 compared with the previous month.

 

Increase in the Water Networks Cost Index (WNCI)

The overall Water Networks Cost Index (WNCI) reached 111.33 with an increase of 0.31% in the West Bank* during June 2017 compared with May 2017 (base month January 2010=100).

 

Water Networks Cost Index reached 114.85 with an increase of 0.49%, while Water Reservoirs Cost Index reached 103.59 with a decrease of 0.13% during June 2017 compared with the previous month.

 

Increase in the Sewage Networks Cost Index (SNCI)

The overall Sewage Networks Cost Index (SNCI) reached 108.75 with an increase of 0.59% in the West Bank* during June 2017 compared with May 2017 (base month January 2010=100).

 

Note: * The data of  West Bank doesn't include that part of Jerusalem governorate which was annexed forcefully by Israel following its occupation of the West Bank in 1967.

NB:

1.       Gaza Strip data is not available.

2.       The difference in the percentage change in major groups of road, construction, water networks, and sewage networks cost index is due to the nature compositions of these major groups.
