Construction Cost Index (CCI), Road Cost Index (RCI), Water Networks Cost Index (WNCI) and Sewage Networks Cost Index (SNCI) in the West Bank During 2015

 

The Construction Cost Index for Residential buildings in the West Bank reached 100.49 during 2015 with a decrease of 0.40% compared with 2014 (base year 2013=100).

The Construction Cost Index for Non-residential buildings in the West Bank reached 100.69 during 2015 with a decrease of 0.29% compared with 2014 (base year 2013=100).

The Construction Cost Index for Skeleton buildings in the West Bank reached 98.28 during 2015 with a decrease of 1.99% compared with 2014 (base year 2013=100).

The overall Road Cost Index (RCI) in the West Bank reached 111.74 during 2015 with a decrease of 4.52% compared with 2014 (Base month December 2008=100).

The overall Water Networks Cost Index (WNCI) in the West Bank reached 109.65 during 2015 with a decrease of 2.11% compared with 2014 (Base month January 2010=100).

The overall Sewage Networks Cost Index (SNCI) in the West Bank reached 107.12 during 2015 with a decrease of 0.96% compared with 2014 (Base month January 2010=100).

Slight decrease in the Construction Cost Index for Residential Buildings

The Construction Cost Index for Residential buildings reached 99.73 with a slight decrease of 0.02% in the West Bank during December 2015 compared with November 2015 (base year 2013=100).

The Construction Cost Index for Residential buildings decreased due to the decrease in rental of equipments by 0.71%, and the prices of raw materials by 0.19%. While, Labor wages increased by 0.17% during December 2015 compared with the previous month.

 

 

Slight decrease in the Construction Cost Index for Non-residential  Buildings

The Construction Cost Index for Non-residential buildings reached 99.97 with a slight decrease of 0.02% in the West Bank during December 2015 compared with November 2015 (base year 2013=100).

The Construction Cost Index for Non-residential buildings decreased due to the decrease in rental of equipments by 0.71%, and the prices of raw materials by 0.19%. While, Labor wages increased by 0.17% during December 2015 compared with the previous month.

Decrease in the Construction Cost Index for Skeleton Buildings

The Construction Cost Index for Skeleton buildings reached 96.30 with a decrease of 0.10% in the West Bank during December 2015 compared with November 2015 (base year 2013=100).

The Construction Cost Index for Skeleton buildings decreased due to the decrease in rental of equipments by 0.56%, and the prices of raw materials by 0.40%. While, Labor wages increased by 0.62% during December 2015 compared with the previous month.

Decrease in the Road Cost Index (RCI)

The overall Road Cost Index (RCI) reached 109.38 with a decrease of 0.70% in the West Bank during December 2015 compared with November 2015 (base month December 2008=100).

The Road Cost Index for December 2015 decreased due to the decrease in Labor wages by 4.55%, the prices of raw materials by 0.75%, and Operating costs of equipment & maintenance by 0.29%. While, rental of equipments increased by 1.22% during December 2015 compared with the previous month.

Increase in the Water Networks Cost Index (WNCI)

The overall Water Networks Cost Index (WNCI) reached 109.42 with an increase of 0.19% in the West Bank during December 2015 compared with November 2015 (base month January 2010=100).

Water Networks Cost Index reached 114.16 with an increase of 0.52%, while Water Reservoirs Cost Index reached 98.99 with a decrease of 0.65% during December 2015 compared with the previous month.

Increase in the Sewage Networks Cost Index

The overall Sewage Networks Cost Index (SNCI) reached 107.78 with an increase of 0.22% in the West Bank during December 2015 compared with November 2015 (base month January 2010=100).

 

Note:

The data of the West Bank doesn’t cover those parts of Jerusalem which were annexed by Israel in 1967.

 

NB:

1.       Gaza Strip data is not available.

2.       The difference in the percentage change in major groups of road, construction, water networks, and sewage networks cost index is due to the nature compositions of these major groups.
