The Common Source of Water for Economic Establishments is Public Water Network

Results showed that the public water network was the common supplier of water to 83.4% of economic establishments in Palestine, 2015.

 

More Than Two Third of Economic Establishments Served by Wastewater Network

Data for 2015 indicated that 71.3% of economic establishments in Palestine used the wastewater network to dispose of their wastewater while 15.2% depended on porous cesspits.

 

Economic Establishments Generated about 20 Thousand Tons of Solid Waste Monthly

Economic establishments in Palestine in 2015 produced 20.2 thousand tons of solid waste per month: 15.3 thousand tons in West Bank and 4.9 thousand in Gaza Strip.

 

90.2% of Economic Establishments Transfer their Waste to the Nearest Container

Data for 2015 indicated that 90.2% of economic establishments in Palestine transfer their Waste to the nearest container, 97.5% of them use municipality container, and 2.5% use establishment container.

 

Around 86% of Economic Establishments are Served by Local Authority in Disposal of Solid Waste

In 2015, 5.2% of economic establishments in Palestine disposed of their solid waste themselves (4.3% in West Bank, and 7.2% in Gaza Strip), while 85.9% benefited from local authority disposal services. 

Paper and Cartoon are Main Components of Solid Waste Generated in Economic Establishments

In 2015, 91.5% of economic establishments in Palestine stated that their waste comprised paper and cartoon, 75.8% of economic establishments said that their waste comprised plastic and rubber and 55.8% said their waste comprised soil and stones.

 

Periodicity of Final Solid Waste Disposal

Data showed that the periodicity of final solid waste disposal was 1 to 3 times per week in 46.2% of economic establishments, and 7 times or more per week in 23.1% of economic establishments in Palestine, 2015.
