Construction Cost Index (CCI), Road Cost Index (RCI), Water Networks Cost Index (WNCI) and Sewage Networks Cost Index (SNCI) in the West Bank* during September,09/2018

 

Stability in the Construction Cost Index (CCI) for Residential Buildings

The Construction Cost Index (CCI) for residential buildings remained stable at the level of 105.79 in the West Bank* during September 2018 compared with August 2018 (base year 2013 = 100).

 

At level of major groups of the CCI for residential buildings, rental of equipment decreased by 0.69%, and the prices of raw materials decreased by 0.11%, while labour wages increased by 0.25% during September 2018 compared with the previous month.

 

Slight Increase in the Construction Cost Index (CCI) for Non-residential Buildings

The Construction Cost Index (CCI) for non-residential buildings reached 105.72 with           a slight increase of 0.03% in the West Bank* during September 2018 compared with August 2018 (base year 2013 = 100).

 

The CCI for Non-Residential buildings slightly increased due to the increase in labour wages by 0.25%, while rental of equipment decreased by 0.64%, and the prices of raw materials slightly decreased by 0.07% during September 2018 compared with the previous month.

 

Slight Decrease in the Construction Cost Index (CCI) for Skeleton Buildings

The Construction Cost Index (CCI) for skeleton buildings reached 105.46 with a slight decrease of 0.05% in the West Bank* during September 2018 compared with August 2018 (base year    2013 = 100).

 

The CCI for skeleton buildings slightly decreased due to the decrease in rental of equipment by 0.35%, and the slight decrease in the prices of raw materials by 0.09%, while labour wages slightly increased by 0.03% during September 2018 compared with the previous month.

 

Decrease in the Road Cost Index (RCI)

The overall Road Cost Index (RCI) reached 109.95 with a decrease of 0.10% in the West Bank* during September 2018 compared with August 2018 (base month December            2008 = 100).

 

The overall RCI decreased due to the decrease in rental of equipment by 0.30%, labour wages by 0.20%, and the slight decrease in the prices of raw materials by 0.03%. At the same time, operating costs of equipment and maintenance remained stable during September 2018 compared with the previous month.

 

Slight Increase in the Water Networks Cost Index (WNCI)

The overall Water Networks Cost Index (WNCI) reached 113.84 with a slight increase of 0.02% in the West Bank* during September 2018 compared with August 2018 (base month January 2010 = 100).

 

Water Networks Cost Index reached 115.64 with a slight increase of 0.04%, while Water Reservoirs Cost Index reached 109.88 with a slight decrease of 0.04% during September 2018 compared with the previous month.

 

Slight Decrease in the Sewage Networks Cost Index (SNCI)

The overall Sewage Networks Cost Index (SNCI) reached 109.43 with a slight decrease of 0.01% in the West Bank* during September 2018 compared with August 2018 (base month January 2010 = 100).

 

 

Note:

*Data exclude those parts of Jerusalem which were annexed by Israeli Occupation in 1967.

 

NB:

1.     Gaza Strip data is not available.

2.     The difference in the percentage change in major groups of road, construction, water networks, and sewage networks cost index is due to the nature compositions of these major groups.
