Construction Cost Index (CCI), Road Cost Index (RCI), Water Networks Cost Index (WNCI) and Sewage Networks Cost Index (SNCI) in the West Bank* during January,01/2018

Slight Decrease in the Construction Cost Index (CCI) for Residential Buildings
The Construction Cost Index (CCI) for residential buildings reached 105.57 with a slight decrease of 0.03% in the West Bank* during January 2018 compared with December 2017 (base year 2013=100).

The CCI for residential buildings slightly decreased due to the decrease in rental of equipment by 0.21%, and the prices of raw materials by 0.04%.  At the same time, labour wages remained stable during January 2018 compared with the previous month.

Slight Decrease in the Construction Cost Index (CCI) for Non-residential Buildings
The Construction Cost Index (CCI) for non-residential buildings reached 105.53 with a slight decrease of 0.04% in the West Bank* during January 2018 compared with December 2017 (base year 2013=100).

The CCI for non-Residential buildings slightly decreased due to the decrease in rental of equipment by 0.19%, and the prices of raw materials by 0.06%.  At the same time, labour wages remained stable during January 2018 compared with the previous month.

Stability in the Construction Cost Index (CCI) for Skeleton Buildings
The Construction Cost Index (CCI) for skeleton buildings remained stable at the level of 105.10 in the West Bank* during January 2018 compared with December 2017 (base year 2013=100).

At level of major groups of the CCI for skeleton buildings, rental of equipment slightly decreased by 0.07%, while the prices of raw materials slightly increased by 0.01%. At the same time, labour wages remained stable during January 2018 compared with the previous month.

Slight Increase in the Road Cost Index (RCI)
The overall Road Cost Index (RCI) reached 109.40 with a slight increase of 0.03% in the West Bank* during January 2018 compared with December 2017 (base month December 2008=100).

The overall RCI slightly increased due to the increase in operating costs of equipment and maintenance by 0.40%, and the prices of raw materials by 0.17%, while rental of equipment decreased by 0.45%. At the same time, labour wages remained stable during January 2018 compared with the previous month.




Slight Increase in the Water Networks Cost Index (WNCI)
The overall Water Networks Cost Index (WNCI) reached 113.47 with a slight increase of 0.08% in the West Bank* during January 2018 compared with December 2017 (base month January 2010=100).

Water Reservoirs Cost Index reached 108.74 with a slight increase of 0.08%, and Water Networks Cost Index reached 115.62 with a slight increase of 0.07% during January 2018 compared with the previous month.

Slight Increase in the Sewage Networks Cost Index (SNCI)
The overall Sewage Networks Cost Index (SNCI) reached 109.13 with a slight increase of 0.08% in the West Bank* during January 2018 compared with December 2017 (base month January 2010=100).

Note:
* The data of  West Bank doesn't include that part of Jerusalem governorate which was annexed forcefully by Israel following its occupation of the West Bank    in 1967.

NB:
1.    Gaza Strip data is not available.
2.    The difference in the percentage change in major groups of road, construction, water networks, and sewage networks cost index is due to the nature compositions of these major groups.
